Youngblood #2 - Atop the Fourth Wall

The conclusion of the Mechakara arc begins here! Originally uploaded February 15th, 2010. RUMINATIONS: In an ironic twist, I uploaded an inferior copy of this episode and I stupidly didn't watch it beforehand, hence the title of the video. A similar thing happened back when I first put this on TGWTG. I had been told that I couldn't put two videos onto the same page (that turned out to be untrue) and since the storyline elements tied one into another, I had to make a note telling people to watch this one before the Power Rangers episode. And now we have this little reuploading mess with the syndication page. Yaaaay. Still, at least I can put them in the proper order on the playlist. At the time of the video's release, there was a still a sizeable portion of the fanbase who didn't like the storylines. Over time, that number has dwindled to those who accept the storylines and either enjoy them now or just realize that "Hey, there's a little progress bar right there so I can skip it or stop watching when the story gets to that part." The few who still scream about the mere idea of the storylines are few and far between, sometimes doing so at the most bizarre moments. Hell, there have been people who say they watch strictly for the story, which baffles me, personally, but whatever - I think they go hand in hand together. Still, the point is that because there were so many who didn't like them, I decided to do a double feature to try to appease both segments of the fanbase - the Youngblood review would be 99% review, a little bit of story to set things up (including what I feel to be one the most hilarious potential anti-climaxes I've ever done on the show by just having Linkara shoot Mechakara) while the other episode would be more half-and-half in terms of review and story, wrapping up all the questions raised while also setting up some new ones for the storyline to follow (since by this point it was popular enough to warrant more storylines being done). And like I've said, most of the storyline thus far has been made up as I went along, so it's nice that it all came together pretty damn well by the end and the reveal of Mechakara as alternate-reality Pollo. My only regret is not setting up Pollo more in the show, but I long ago told myself I'd only use my other characters on the show if I thought I had a funny bit for them so as to avoid people getting sick of them and there were only so many ways I could include the little guy. Still, his presence over on the Spoony Experiment helped there. At the time, Spoony had finally been finishing up the Final Fantasy 8 reviews, ending in his apparent "death," leading to Linkara and Pollo cloning him to return him to life through a combination of science and magic.
