DIR EN GREY - Conceived Sorrow [eng sub] LIVE HD

I decided to keep the intro since I thought the visuals set the mood nicely. Skip to 2:18 for the song if you want! From their TOUR16-17 FROM DEPRESSION TO ________ [mode of THE MARROW OF A BONE] and requested by Bruce Copperfield. Hope you like it! Translation by me. This song has very intriguing and sometimes ambiguous lyrics, so let's jump right into the annotations: "The sun is entangled in thorns" - Imagine the sun seen through a thorny bush. "The hearts of those devoured by loneliness grow to be cruel" - Something to think about and also the line I probably spent the most time discussing for the sake of understanding nuance so far. There's different ways to read this, however what the people I talked to insisted on is that even though the statement is about people becoming cruel, there's sympathy for them in this line. They're in a cruel state to begin with, and to put it into much simpler words, they are people who suffer and become people that make others suffer. "I melt into the white that I piled up" - Imagine layers of white put on top of one another. "I want to fall asleep with tears in unstained kindness" - "Unstained" as in "pure" (literally "without stains/dirt"). Also, a more literal translation might be "I want to sleep [...]", but the word chosen for "sleep" here is distinct from the kind of sleep where you lie down to sleep. It rather describes being overcome by sleep, so I chose "to fall asleep". "The madder red sky behind me only resounds" - Now, I'm not saying this is an intended nuance, but I don't want to keep from you that in some contexts the word for "behind me" can mean "to be burdened [with something]". --------------- I do not own Dir En Grey or any of their music or performances. I translate for fun and wanted to share this translation. Thank you for watching!
