CAM LIVE: Elbow dysplasia and osteoarthritis with Mike Farrell

Oct 14, 2021 FULL VIDEO: You can find the full video in CAM MemberZone. https://caninearthritis.co.uk/member-... We were thrilled to have Mike back to talk to us about elbow dysplasia and arthritis and he provides a thought-provoking live with lots of easy-to-understand analogies. To provide context, Mike starts by telling us that elbow disease is only just behind cancer as a cause of euthanasia in dogs. Mike and Nicki compare hip and elbow dysplasia and the ways they are diagnosed and managed. They also look at the OFA data on breed predispositions for both (https://www.ofa.org/diseases/elbow-dy...) along with elbow scoring and its limitations. To finish, Mike looks at surgical and non-surgical options for elbow disease and shares work from a group of specialists on these options and how they assessed outcome based on expected improvement for the dog. Mike's website www.vetlessons.com/mike and YouTube channel are amazing resources for joint disease. Mike Farrell BVetMed, CertVA, CertSAS, DipECVS, MRCVS, EBVS and RCVS Specialist in Small Animal Surgery: Mike graduated from the RVC in 1997.
