Enjoy this vintage TTT early, since I'll be on vacation for two weeks! "Behavior doesn't just flow like a fountain, it's a tool animals use to produce consequences." Dogs do what works for dogs. Cats do what works for cats. Fish do what works for fish. Iguanas do what works for iguanas. Paramecium do what works for paramecium. Humans do what works for humans. You get the idea... Behavior serves a purpose. If that behavior fulfills a purpose, the individual will keep doing it. If it doesn't fulfill a purpose, the behavior will go away. If you want your dog to keep doing all the silly human things we want dogs to do, you have to make it worth their while to do so.
