Beaconsfield has a long history of hosting top notch tournament golf, and that's for good reason. While some golfers tend to flock to the dramatic, the views and the flash, Beaconsfield isn't any of that. Its strategy and subtleties are what makes this property special. Beaconsfield's undulating fairways on 1, 2, 7, 9 and the entire back 9 are synonymous to those found in the UK's linksland. The sloping fairways and large ridge running through the middle of the property promote shot creativity in the absence of any sandy dunes. As with much of Stanley Thompson's work, it's also a place that requires distance control coming into the green. "Don't go past the pin" often rings true here. This golf course is one that the scratch player truly admires. And while Beaconsfield is a course that's always listed in Canada's top 100, it often gets lost in the shadows of neighbouring Mount Bruno and Royal Montreal (Blue). As the city of Montreal gets ready to showcase some global golf for the 2024 Presidents Cup, we can only imagine that the Beaconsfield membership will continue to thrive and invest in this historic site.
