Just A Shave: Karve Chris Bradley - Feather (M) (58) - SV Tundra Artica - Semogue Torga C5 Prem

Today's lather was superb, and the razor was less so, because I was working with more growth than a usual one day, but perhaps this razor doesn't have the right geometry to work with this high-use blade. And I wanted to put another use on my new Semogue. Razor: Karve - Christopher Bradley (OC C Plate) Blade: Feather (Marathon) (58) Lather: Saponificio Varesino - Tundra Artica Brush: Semogue - Torga C5 Premium (2 uses) Post: Barrister and Mann - Seville Razor and Blade Notes - Karve - Christopher Bradley (OC C Plate) ::: Feather (M) (58 uses): It was tuggy during pass one, and much nicer after that. I was shaving off 1.5 days of growth, which is sometimes less than optimal when you're marathoning a blade. I'll try the OC D tomorrow and see what that brings. So far, the Fat Boy is giving me the best shaves with this blade. But by the 3rd pass face felt great again and loved the shave. Soap Notes - Saponificio Varesino - Tundra Artica: Them: Agar wood. "Icelandic lichen (soothing, cleansing, anti-bacterial, emollient) and Cranberry (for sensitive skin has a soothing effect and gives the skin firmness, freshness and vitality)." Scent: My favorite from SV, since I'm such a fan of Agar. I love how they made it more reachable and earthy by the lichen, and have just a little flavor with the cranberry (which is very light... just right). Scent Strength: 4-5/10, nicely present during shaving. Lather: This was a very slick lather that had a light viscosity, and softness to it. The contact slickness was also high, and between buttery and watery in feel. Razor glide and skin protection was excellent. Hydration: Perfect (for me) 30 sec load with a Lightly-Wet brush 3.5 tsp added to make lather = 6 passes of lather Bowl: Roger Quintero 3D Printed Bowl I use the XL version of this bowl. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:339... Brush Notes - Semogue - Torga C5 Premium (2 uses): After an unintentional all-night soak, the second use of this brush went really well. It killed the lather in the first use, but did not this time. A few tips had already begun to split from the first use. I felt the backbone at the core of the knot, but the tips were soft, scrubbed well, and made me really look forward to even more good shaves to come. *Shave Quality* During the Shave Feel: Cheeks: Tuggy Neck: Tuggy After the Shave Closeness: Cheeks: Near BBS - About as close as I'll ever get Neck: Few hairs are showing some tip length (with most being cut flush) Wetshaving is the age-old shaving method where you create a lather from a soap or cream, usually with a brush. And these days, we also usually mean using a safety razor (aka double edge or DE) or single edge or straight razor to remove the hair. We often enjoy less irritated skin, healthier skin, more enjoyable shaves, and often closer shaves than those who use a multi-bladed cartridge and canned shaving foam.
