Hey Everyone in this video we take a listen to a true American classic - The Rogers Dyna-Sonic Chrome on Brass! This 70's era is in full original condition with 10 cast lugs, double beaded, "5 line" chrome on brass shell and original Dyna-sonic swivomatic throw off. Users of the Dyna-Sonic read like a who’s who of drumming greats in the 60’s Buddy Rich was driving his big band with one by the 70’s prog players like Pink Floyd’s Nick Mason where using them in an entirely different way. The Dyna-Sonic is a versatile drum, with incredible responsiveness. At the time it was also considered highly innovative with the snare cradle system. The 60’s era drums sell for more money than the Big R badge drums but speak to any Dyna-Sonic fans and they will tell you that the performance and the quality was consistent throughout the build period which spanned from the 60’s through to the early 80’s. This is an early 70’s model with the internal control which was briefly removed from the first few hundred Big R edition drums. Our demonstration starts with the snare placed in a musical context, then we show you some isolated drum mixes with the snare recorded at high & middle tuning registers. Like with all our audio demos there is no limiting to enhance the dynamic response, no digital reverbs are used, the ambience is naturally captured with room mics. We recommend listening through headphones or speakers for the best detail. The music used on this video is not a backing track. Rocky put the drums down first and the music was created and recorded afterwards, much like in a studio session to help demonstrate a more authentic feel.
