Fixing a Makita 18v BL1840 battery lockout with Arduino OBI, round 2, part 2

In this video we will be assembling a more stable platform hardware platform to interface with Makita 18v batteries. This video has been split into two parts due to the length. The first part covered assembling the Arduino shield. This video which involves the programming and software use. Part 1 can be found here:    • Fixing a Makita 18v BL1840 battery lo...   TIMESTAMPS 00:00 Intro 00:33 Connecting up the battery 01:15 Checking hardware with the Arduino OBI Python GUI 04:41 Programming the Arduino with the hex file 11:39 Terminal emulator and recovery attempt 12:44 Ending I would like to thank Martin Jansson for taking the time to decipher the communication protocol which makes this project possible. He has send a binary Arduino program my way to try on this battery to recover it and will be attempting that. Fair warning that attempting this may brick your Makita battery, every worse than it is now. Please attempt this at your own risk. Sometimes these Makita battery lockouts are legitimate and in such case the battery is now unsafe to use. Before attempting to unlock such a battery inspection of the inside and battery cells is very highly recommended. This will include assembling an Arduino shield for the Arduino UNO that allows easy connection to the Makita battery. A custom cable will be constructed for stable connection between the Arduino and the Makita battery. The parts used for this build include the following: Arduino UNO Knock off charger (for the Makita battery connector) Arduino shield PCB JST PH 6 pin connector 5.08mm pitch 2 pin connector 4.7k pull up resistors Link to the first attempt video:    • Fixing a Makita 18v battery lockout w...   Links to the original information: https://martinjansson.netlify.app/pos... https://martinjansson.netlify.app/pos... https://hackaday.com/2024/06/15/rever... https://github.com/mnh-jansson/open-b...    • Makita LXT 18V Batteries UNLOCKED! In...
