Here we'll repair a complaint of "shuddering" just prior to coming to a stop. This was a strange one that had me on the wrong track at first. There was zero vibration or noise at ANY speed ... EXCEPT just prior to stopping, say around 5-8 MPH. The car would shudder fairly violently. Using the E-brake to stop the car made it worse. You already know the problem from the title, but I've never had a u-joint failure present these symptoms in the 35 years I've been around the mechanical side of vehicles. I also make a big rookie mistake which ruined a new part, so I have to order another one and do the job over again. Did you expect something to go smoothly around here? Didn't think so! LOL! - Enjoy!
