Once I reached the other side, I walked up the beach and set up camp in the sand dunes. Exploration was the name of the game as I wandered through the surrounding areas, discovering stunning forests adjacent to the dunes. After setting up my tarp for shelter, I watched a breathtaking sunset over the horizon. Later, I started a fire using my ferro rod and began cooking my dinner straight in the flames. I threw in a sweet potato and an eggplant, and while they may have gotten a bit charred, I managed to carve out the beautiful roasted veggies from their burnt husks. Nothing beats fresh campfire cooking under the stars! My experience was truly raw and solo, as I slept without a sleeping bag, right next to the warm fire, and without a mattress. The solitude of the night was invigorating, with only the sound of the crackling fire and the waves lapping on the shore. I woke up to find the fire still burning and enjoyed a morning coffee before taking a refreshing swim back to civilization. Though I was ready to return to my daily routine, this adventure left me with cherished memories and a deeper connection to nature. This journey into the wild, away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, provided a much-needed escape and an opportunity to embrace the simplicity and beauty of Australia's natural landscape. My experience reminded me how important it is to unplug, step back, and enjoy life's raw moments.
