Without hesitation, I loaded up the kayak with my gear and embarked on a spontaneous river journey, eager to see where this river would lead me. Paddling through the winding waters, I soaked in the breathtaking surroundings, each bend in the river revealing untouched beauty. Eventually, my journey upstream came to a halt—a massive fallen tree blocked the river's path. Undeterred, I beached the kayak and ventured into the surrounding bush to explore further. With my curiosity satisfied, I decided to make the return trip back downstream. Before heading back, I filled my trusty 10-liter water bottle with fresh water from the river, ensuring I had enough for the rest of my journey. But I embraced the challenge, harmonica in hand, letting the music carry me along the way as I navigated the river's current back to camp. Once back at the campsite, I secured the kayak and took some time to unwind. With the fire crackling, I roasted a couple of sweet potatoes over the coals, enjoying the simple but satisfying meal under the open sky. The night was calm and peaceful, with only the sounds of the wilderness around me. I pulled out my guitar and played a few tunes, letting the music blend with the natural rhythm of the night before climbing into my hammock for a well-earned rest.
