Today's Mordhau gameplay video features my Eveningstar loadout! I take the Brawler into battle in the Forests of Taiga for some cronchy good action. If you're wondering what I'm talking about when I say "cronch," that is the sound effect of the head bursting from being hit by a blunt weapon like the Eveningstar, Mace or Maul. It's a burst of dopamine and is probably a large reason why Maul Men are so prevalent in the game. Compared to the Maul in Mordhau, the Eveningstar is more versatile. The Eveningstar's alt mode makes it the same length of the Maul, and slightly faster. While the Maul does more damage overall, the default mode of the Eveningstar is longer by 30cm, its windup speed is 50ms shorter AND it can combo. The Maul has no alt mode (ya just chuck it) and it cannot combo. Additionally, the Eveningstar's alt mode stab is the same length of the Maul, but the the damage charts are night and day in comparison. The Maul, for example, deals 40 damage to an unarmored chest; the Eveningstar's alt mode does 65 damage to an unarmored chest. In all but level 2 and 3 armored legs, the damage difference is double-digits in favor of the Eveningstar. You can pick up Mordhau on Steam.
