Today's Mordhau gameplay video features the Spear! The Spear is one of the easiest weapons to use in the game. In fact, back when I made my "starter build" video, the Spear was one of the weapons I recommended for newer players. It's a great weapon for understanding how distance is a key factor in the gameplay of Mordhau, and it's relatively easy to get finisher kills with the Spear, thanks to its powerful stabs. The Spear also has a great alt mode that makes it ideal in close-quarters fights. If you can't keep your enemies at bay with the range of the spear, or you find yourself in a small fighting space (like a house or hallway) swap to the alt mode and take advantage of its speed and slashing bonus damage. The alt mode of the Spear sees a 45cm range reduction, but if you're using the Spear correctly, you'll only be using the alt mode when enemies are close enough. The alt mode of the Spear can be thought of to be a long Estoc. The slash damage of the spear's alt mode is slightly higher than the slash damage of the Estoc. The alt-mode Spear's stab damage is almost completely higher than the Estoc's base stab damage too. You can pick up Mordhau on Steam.
