Loathe's album "I Let It in and It Took Everything" was one of my favorite releases of 2020. I have a vivid memory of checking it out for the first time while on tour with Exist just a few weeks before the pandemic hit. I've always wanted to do a cover of one of the songs off it & thought this would be a really sick one to do. "Broken Vision Rhythm" is the second "real" song on the album. I've come to really appreciate how important second songs are, what they do & how they propel you into the rest of the album after the opener. This song does all of that in a really sick way. It's just a sick heavy banger!! HUGE thanks to Loathe's drummer Sean Radcliffe for being down to send me a drumless file for this song. Sean & I have followed eachother on Instagram for a while & I figured I'd hit him up to see if he could send me a file of this song without drums. I really didn't want to have to EQ the original drums out of the actual mastered song, so having this file enabled me to get everything sounding pretty sick & there aren't any weird flams or anything bc the drums are all me! It also goes without saying that Sean's playing is super rad & tasteful. I tried my best to nail every nuance from his original performance. I think the only differences in this vid are some ghost notes I added here & there & maybe like, what cymbal I chose to hit compared to what he hit haha. Pretty sure Sean also doesn't actually use a china. But yeah, big shoutout to Sean! He's mad sic.
