Today we're at Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens, with a very special mission to accomplish. We've been tipped off that there is a rare plant flowering in the Gardens for the first time in 15 years, and we've been tasked to photograph it to accompany a press release. The plant in question is the Puya chilensis, a relative of the pineapple, whose flowers are both unusual and rarely seen (particularly in the UK). Photographs taken, edited and sent, we embark on a tour of Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens in our usual style - enthusiastic, if a little lacking in detail. Abbotsbury is home to many renowned collections of plants, as well as interest throughout the garden, including picturesque red bridges and a rope bridge over a lake.
