What’s up my good friends! I know it’s been a few months since I’ve been on here but I’m back! I’m so thankful everyday to have the opportunity to play for you all! I’m hoping to post some more new music very soon! The Eastar company contacted me again on Instagram for a trumpet review (Eastar ETR-390) and wanted my honest opinion. Here my honest opinion. 1. Beautiful (fit and finish) 2. Playable (no issues with tuning or valves) 3. Affordable ($199.99 as of the time of this post) 4. Good feel (valves, air resistance, slotting) 5. Build quality (good solder joints, and slide fit) 6. Durability (red brass lead-pipe) 7. Versatility (good lows and crispy highs) This horn meets and exceeds all these requirements of mine especially for the price! I’m primarily playing on vintage professional horns as my everyday players. Horns from the 50s thru the 70s. Now is the Eastar ETR-390 a pro level horn? Of course not. However it’s an excellent playing trumpet within its price range! And this horn can probably even contend with some 300-500 dollar trumpets out there. If you’ve seen my reviews on the ETR-380 and the ETR-380N you notice this model looks like those. This model ETR-390 is built on that platform with the addition of the red brass or rose brass lead pipe. The red brass lead pipe adds an additional layer of protection against corrosion and oxidation. Red brass has more copper in the brass alloy and is naturally resistant against acid, sugars and any kinda stuff that isn’t supposed to be there. Some people say it adds a different sound but I don’t think it does. I do think it looks cool as heck though! Don’t wait on this deal. It’s on sale right now for $199.99 on AMAZON! Links below!
