Spring has arrived in Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens. There are blooms and buds emerging all around, from the ridiculously floriferous Rhododendrons all the way down to humble tropical style plants covering the forest floor. David, the gardens Curator, walks us around this subtropical forest garden to share some of the plant highlight during the month of March. We see new species of familiar plants including bizarre tropical style shrubs, orchid like blooms on the woodland floor, climbers dripping with flowers and tropical looking iris with stems like bamboo.
