Brandon Grissom was attending traditional college when he decided there was something else he wanted to pursue professionally. He transferred to Marine Mechanics Institute (MMI) in Orlando, Florida, and is now a marine technician at the MarineMax boat dealership. At MMI, Brandon says the Mercury Marine manufacturer-specific advanced training course gave him valuable experience using diagnostic tools that are important for his job. Brandon says he likes being a technician because it’s hands-on and there’s something different to do every day. He says the career potential with his employer is great, and he enjoys the benefits, including health insurance.
