In today's video tutorial, I will be showing you the proper position for each finger in the RH and LH using the Dozen a Day Mini Exercise “Walking” which can be found on pg. 5. The main goal of the exercise is to play with perfect hand and finger position on each note you play to improve tone quality and to avoid tension. Here are the main aspects of the technique that I will be covering in this tutorial: 1. Relaxed hand 2. Curved fingers 3. Wrist height Whether you are a beginner, an advanced player or a piano teacher, you can apply these fundamentals to improve your technique when playing other exercises or your favorite repertoire on the piano. To download a copy of the resource I'm using today, follow the link in the description above. We’ve laid this piano tutorial out as a stand-alone video, or as a practice aid to use within an existing lesson system.
