Music Independent Study

This research project explores the connection between musical improvisation and dance, piano, and voice. Inspired by words from the audience, including "fly," "distress," "kindness," and "moo," I sought to investigate how my body could naturally connect with the artistic voices of live musicians. Collaborating with Grace, who I've been working with in my introduction to ballet class, and Audrey, a student from my jazz class, we created a moving and spiritual performance that transcended language and brought us all to tears. This experience highlighted the healing power of music and dance, and I feel grateful to have shared it with such talented and intuitive collaborators.
