This is a simple little nymph that I've been busy tying this winter for a client. It has a nice dark silhouette and contrasting gold trim. If you want to add a little more durability to the body by adding a coat of head cement after the ribbing is wrapped onto the body of the fly. I tie this with a brass bead (3mm for #12), but you can use tungsten to weight the fly heavier. You may also want to tie this on a curved hook like the Mustad C49s. I would recommend having both a straightened version and the curved variant in your fly box.
