The fly is commonly tied on a jig hook with a slotted tungsten bead, but today we are tying a more traditional presentation. You can use brass or tungsten beads to weight the fly. Use tungsten and additional wraps of lead to really weight the fly. For the thorax, you can experiment using different colors. I like to use contrasting colors for the hotspot and the thorax. The bright spots among the drab natural colors seem to be a great trigger to get lethargic trout to strike. Thanks to Mike for the additional footage and wild trout photos.
