We took the opportunity to head on up to the west coast of Scotland over the bank holiday weekend. The aim was to get a bit of hiking done alongside practising our bushcraft skills and getting used to setting up and sleeping in the DD Hammocks. The Ardnamurchan Peninsula is a wild and rugged area; Scotland at its best, the coastal areas are stunning with white sands and turquoise waters. I use the Coffey Spit to grill some lamb on the Firebox stove, I bought the spit from the Bushcraft Store but at the time of writing they are out of stock, I must've got the last one! I took a telescopic rod and some mackerel spinners and feathers but ended up landing two sea trout which we had for lunch. Even though the weather was great and it was a bank holiday weekend, the Singing Sands was relatively quiet and as soon as the temperatures dropped it's fair to say the place was deserted; a great place for spending some time wild camping and immersing yourself in nature.
