It is no secret that our thoughts color our lives. While I was an undergraduate student at Columbia University, I discovered a set of books that permanently changed my life. These books were the well-loved prosperity classics by the New Age author Wallace D. Wattles, The Science of Being Great and The Science of Getting Rich. Near the end of The Science of Being Great, there is a chapter titled “A Mental Exercise” which promotes a continual positive and expansive worldview. I have recited the entirety of this chapter in today’s video. My general takeaway from this chapter is that if we are experiencing resistance in our lives, the problem lies in our attitude. Nothing can truly go wrong with us if we keep our attitude right. And here is the key to having the right attitude about things: In spite of appearances, all is well with the world and the universe as a whole. Once we adopt this viewpoint, we must hold it in mind firmly and unconditionally. Just as a whole is the sum of its parts, humanity is the sum of its individuals. Humanity is advancing at large, although our limited viewpoint as mere drops in a vast ocean may cause us to think otherwise. All is well with humanity; therefore, all is well with each of us. 🩵
