DC vs. Marvel Mugen Playthrough: The Joker

This is a playthrough of my own DC vs. Marvel Mugen build, where I play as DC's Jack Napier, The Joker, to take down the various heroes and villains from both franchises. Ahhh, the Joker, probably one of the most classic villains in all of comics. I'll be honest, I didn't really take to him as strongly as other fans did. I know what you're thinking and, no, I don't dislike the Joker in concept. Him being the complete opposite of Batman is a good idea and he's been pulled off wonderfully throughout the years. However, at the same time, I feel he's also weaker than some of Batman's other rogues specifically because, though Batman can help reform the likes of Two-Face, Clayface, Poison Ivy, and many others, the Joker will always be the one person he truly cannot help. That simple fact kinda turns me away from him, as the best of Batman comes from him attempting to help the damaged souls that he brings in. The Joker, meanwhile, will never be one of those he can truly help. While it is the intended point of him, I feel that because Joker is more psychologically damaged than someone who was evil from the start (I know, we don't know his exact backstory, but at the same time, it's clear the chemicals he was afflicted by changed him dramatically from whoever he was before), it ultimately takes away from whatever Batman stories focus on their rivalry. That said, I will admit that their rivalry is one that makes thematic sense and the Joker himself is a diabolical bastard in action, so seeing Batman kick his tail every now and then brings joy. As for how he plays within the build, I was genuinely surprised by how viable Joker actually was. Whenever I played against him previously, I thought his tools were comprised of a few good moves and several keepaway items, but when I actually tried him out, he has some great utility. His light and medium attacks chain fast, which is helped by the fact that his mediums act more as how heavy attacks would (heavy punch is normally a launcher move and heavy kick is normally a sweep). His specials and hypers also compliment his gameplay nicely, as they have several different options that can either trip the opponent up or assist in giving pressure. I had a really fun time with him and after all was said and done, I can say that he lands within high mid-tier, on the verge of being low high-tier, being held back by the fact that he's easy-to-use, difficult to master. Now, this is for entertainment purposes, not a high-level play. I am very much aware that I am not very flashy, I use basic tools, and the screenpack still needs work (Some bugs, portrait screen needs to be fixed, win quote screen needs to be fixed, music needs to be added at spots, and other things). However, I hope you all enjoy this regardless of the quality of my setup and skills. All properties belong to their rightful owners.
