In this episode, we take a big step forward by building a massive chicken barn with a 5,000 chicken capacity! The barn’s grain silo can store enough feed to keep the chickens going for two full years. To fund this project, we sell our old chicken coops and the eggs we’ve accumulated. Originally, we planned to transfer chickens from the old coops, but we ran into an issue: the animal purchase trigger for the new barn is inside the building, making it impossible to transfer chickens directly from the trailer. So, we ended up selling all the chickens from the coops. After setting up the barn, we move all our stored barley to the new silo to feed the chickens. Then, we spray herbicide and fertilizer on the barley fields we planted last episode to boost our yield. Next, we use our pivot steer loader to load products from our factories onto a small trailer for sale—managing the large number of flour pallets proves challenging. We experiment with different loading methods, eventually finding one that works well. The following month, we load and sell the first eggs produced in the new chicken barn. Finally, we mow and bale grass from our grass field to wrap up the episode. We’re playing this series on hard mode, and expanding the farm takes more effort with each step. Enjoy watching!
