I have been waiting for these to arrive for ages. They arrived today and I just had to share them with you. Two pages from Latin Books of Hours written in France. One is 1430 and the other is 1450. The bigger one is also 1450 and had been with me for over 10 years. It always brings me joy. I hope you seeing these really fuels your interest in manuscripts, illumination and palaeography. Cutting the quill to the correct size to be able to write this small is a skill in itself. But HOLDING DOWN such a small piece of vellum to do that much writing is equally challenging. Especially knowing how costly vellum was back then, and still is today.
