Elizabeth Stafford was the Duchess of Norfolk who was trapped in an abusive marriage to Thomas Howard the 3rd Duke of Norfolk, one of Henry VIII’s most influential and powerful courtiers. Their marriage caused a public scandal at one point because of how terrible Elizabeth was treated.
