Apollo 11 Special Event Station - NASA Dryden July 1994

On short notice in 1994 the NASA Dryden Amateur Radio Club was formed. Our first club project, which we accomplished with limited resources, was to get volunteers to quickly assemble and operate a special event station commemorating the 25th anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon Landing. The only blemish was the the theft of some VHF radios from the club (it absolutely was not me). NASA Dryden (now Armstrong) contributed to Project Apollo by designing and supporting the Lunar Landing Research Vehicle (LLRV). Our trailer and antenna were donated by the NASA Dryden facilities. Our station operated from July 20, 1994 until July 21, 1994, manned by the members who volunteered their personal time and equipment to the operation. Fun times!
