Little Women #2 "Angels in Boots" (1981)

"Angels in Boots" is the second episode of the 1981 Japanese animated series based on Louisa May Alcott's novel, "Little Women." (The first and third episodes, "Christmas Eve" and "Jo's Boyfriend, have also been uploaded to this channel. All are dubbed in English.) In this one, the four March sisters share their Christmas breakfast with a poor family on the verge of starvation. Later in the episode, the four sisters put on a play that Jo has written, staging it for the neighborhood audience in a drafty old barn in the middle of a storm. The play is "Woods of Terror," and Jo describes it as "a story of a beautiful princess, a villain who desires her, a witch and a handsome knight who loves the princess." Poor Lawrie, who lives across the street, is not allowed to attend and watches glumly from his window as the girls have fun below.
