Don’t forget to LIKE, COMMENT, SHARE AND SUBSCRIBE! Thanks!! This was a fun and challenging Provincial Championship. The Course of Fire consisted of 15 stages. The match was held over a 3 day period. I shot the first afternoon, 7 stages and the morning of the third day, 8 stages. We had rain on and off but luckily my squad was spared the heavier rain unlike other squads. There was 206 competitors shooting handgun and 32 competitors who shot PCC. I was doing very well the first day and only had one miss but I did have a jam on one stage. That situation cost me a good 5-7 seconds which was very frustrating. For some reason a cartridge popped up rather than being stripped from the magazine by the slide and into the chamber. This cartridge caused the jam. I quickly corrected the issue but I then grab the same mag that I ejected and reloaded only to have 2 rounds in the mag when I needed 4 rounds to engage the last two targets through the port before moving to the next position. That caused me to reload losing time again. On Day 2, unfortunately I got another 4 misses. Three of my 5 misses were on partial targets. Unfortunately, I made a rookie mistake 3 times not following through on the second shot before exiting my shooting positions. That cause me to put the second round three times on three separate targets into the black portion (hard cover) of targets. Ouch! I can say that I hit every moving (swingers, max trap and bobbers) and reactive target (plates and poppers). I was very pleased about that. Overall, I was very pleased with my stage plans and would not change my plans if I shot this COF again. I should mention that I screwed up my stage plan for Stage 10. I meant to shoot the two poppers through the ports first as they activated targets and then the three paper targets on the right before shooting the popper that activated the Max Trap. That was a major screw up! A Brain Fart!! Oh well…. Three stages in particular pulled down my overall standing for the match: Stages 1, 10 and 12. Well, now to focus on my next level 3 match: 2024 IPSC Saskatchewan Provincial Championship in two weeks followed by the 2024 IPSC Canada National Championship being hosted in Peterborough, Ontario. Before the shoot the Saskatchewan Provincial Championship, I have a IPSC Manitoba Qualifier match. That will be my third Qualifier match this year. I finished 1st and 3rd in Standard Division in the first two Qualifiers. I objective is to remain in the Top 3 for this upcoming Qualifier.
