IPSC European Handgun Championship 2019 - Day 2 / Area 2

Don't forget to LIKE, COMMENT, SHARE and SUBSCRIBE! Thanks!! I had a great time at the IPSC European Handgun Championship (EHC) 2019 in Belgrade, Serbia. Two weeks before the match, my friend, Dimitrios from DPM Systems Technologies called me up and asked if i wanted one of his sponsor slots and compete as DPM competitor. Well, that was a no brainer and I accepted his fantastic offer. As I didn't have enough time to get all the export / import permits to take my Tanfoglio Limited Custom to Serbia, Dimitrios organized a loaner gun from Beretta. In fact, Roberto Vezolli, Beretta Team member, loaned me his own Beretta 92X Performance in 9x21. Without Roberto's gracious offer to lend me his gun, I would have had a difficult time finding a gun to borrow. Many thanks to Roberto!! The EHC 2019 was hosted on a Special Police Training Base in Belgrade which had everything required to hold a Level 4 championship match. The match consisted of 24 stages and 460 rounds. There were over 1100 competitors representing 54 countries. It was a very well organized championship and the competitors had an outstanding area to relax in after a long day on the range shooting. The competitors' lounge area consisted of a large beer and food tent filled with chairs and tables. As well, there where table with umbrellas all around the pool area. Yes, that's right a pool. It was a great spot to hang out after a day fo shooting and have some great food and beer to cool off as the temperatures were between 30C - 36C daily. Furthermore, the pool was used by many to cool down and to simply have some water fun. I enjoyed shooting the Beretta 92X Performance. I love the weight of the gun as the brigadier slide and all steel frame made the gun nice and heavy compared to other Production guns. The added weight was very good for recoil control. A well, the oversized take-down lever could be used like a thumb rest to help keep the muzzle flip down to a minimum. The pistol grip's fore and back straps are quite aggressive / sharp providing for a good solid grip on the gun. The trigger is awesome on the 92X. It is super smooth and light and has the shortest trigger reset that I have ever felt on ant Production gun that I have shot and I have shot many. The SA was around 2.5 lbs and the DA about 5.5 lbs. The trigger's physical design makes the trigger almost a flat trigger when shooting in SA. This is a very nice feature! I was shooting match ammo and unfortunately, it was shooting some 5"-6" low in the Beretta. I didn't realize this until the end of the second day of shooting. It caused me a number of misses, hits on penalty targets and at times it took me a fe make-up shots to knock down steel. On the morning of the 3rd day, Roberto and I confirmed that the match ammo was shooting low by 5"-6" and we raised the rear sight by 7 clicks to zero the gun. Wow, did that make a difference as now the bullets were hitting exactly where I was aiming. Regrettably, I didn't have assess to my match ammo on the half day that I practiced with Roberto's pistol before the match. I had used his ammo and of course the gun was bang on. Anyhow, once we adjusted the sight for the match ammo, the frustration of Day 1 and 2's shooting was gone. I was very fortunate to be able to "test drive" the Beretta 92X Performance in a championship match but I wasn't familiar with the gun and the new speed holster that I was using. I have told many people never to do something new for the first time during a match. You should always practice the "new" thing first and then use it in a match. Well, here I was using a new gun and holster for the first time and in a championship match. Lol. Well, I expected my performance to be somewhat different from the norm and it was. Everyday a grew more confident with the 92X and my APG speed holster. This was a great way to experience, "Test Drive", the Beretta 92X Performance under pressure in a big match! I have posted all four days of my shooting, 6 stages per day. I shoot the first 4 days and had the 5th day off to roam the vendors' area, relax by the pool, and chat with old and new friends over a beer and some good food by the competitors' lounge area. It was a great experience shooting the IPSC European Handgun Championship 2019. Big thanks to DPM for the invite and support during this match as well to Beretta and Roberto Vezzoli. Music is "Hey You" by Mk2. Thanks for the great soundtrack..
