Attraction: Place it in a tree 5 meters up. They like leaf forests but also a mix of leafs/and needletrees. There should be some open patches around. And last but not least there has to be rodents to hunt. Why: Owls are great hunters of mice and rats and you don't have to worry about using your energy. Be lazy build a owl house :) Careful: Of placing it within 20-30 meters of a house or where people walk. It will attack if people get to close when there are babies to protect. Info not in film: I read that with a owl present in the area the rodents are 30% less up and about. This is the best rat and mouse repellent to have around.
