Testing Syvecs AWD Controller on 2023 Toyota GR Corolla GRC (Core) at Road Atlanta April 6, 2023

Took our new 2023 GR Corolla with performance package to Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta on April 6, 2023. Car is stock except for a heat wrap near differential, Airtec rear diff cooler, CE brake ducts and Syvecs AWD controller. Ambient temperature was about 70-80 F when testing the GRC and we are beta testing a Syvecs AWD controller (https://www.syvecs.com/product-catego...) with different parameters. All the sessions were ran in Sport, 30/70 with complete traction off. First we changed the temperature limit by raising it from default 100 degrees C to 115 degrees C. On the 2nd session, after pushing it for 9 laps, it reached over 115 degrees C, and AWD overheat message showed on the display. Unlike OE setting that will disconnect the rear axles which can be very dangerous when running on a track, Syvecs AWD controller will maintain in AWD with decreased duty and it was much easier to control when the overheat message showed. We felt to the GRC had a little bit more torque as well, and Ryan at Syvecs said with the AWD controller, it delivers the torque more consistantly compared to the OEM unit which has different adaptations and trims. Thus the AWD controller contributes a better torque delivery. on 3rd session, we raised the limp mode temperature to 120 C to see if it will reach that high, and we did not see AWD message after completed 12 laps in a 25 mins session. Fastest of the day was a 1:46.469. However, we did ran into another issue that required the car towed back to Toyota. Enjoy the video, and let us know if you have questions.
