Pokemon Voice Compare - Looker

In the Pokemon anime, Looker is played by Jason Griffith. While his voice isn’t the most distinctive, even slipping into his Shadow the Hedgehog at times, the performance more than makes up for it. Griffith portrays the friendly, witty and caring personality. But also with a dutiful serious side as well. Overall, Jason Griffith does great work once again, giving another solid performance. In Generations, Looker is played by Kanji Tang, in a more serious portrayal. While in my opinion, the character wasn’t as compelling in Generations: Kaiji Tang is known for playing serious roles well. Considering the spotty voice direction that went into the series of shorts, Tang gives a solid performance. It’s unfortunate he would only get one or two more episodes to work with, mostly delivering exposition. But Kanji Tang does a good job with the role nonetheless. In Masters, Looker is played by Mick Lauer. Who is a talented actor and a good choice on paper. But once again, whether it was a direction issue or mischaracterisation, Lauer just comes across as another “generic friendly guy” in Masters EX with nothing standing out about him. We get shades of his character in some lines, but for me it’s hard to listen to his performance without it blending together. Overall, Mick Lauer does a serviceable job, but could’ve done better. In terms of the definitive performance, Griffith had the most variation, the most character and memorable performance overall, so I’m giving it to Jason Griffith as the definitive voice for Looker!
