Editor's opinion: I think all four actors aren’t bad as the character. Like with Misty, Brock is associated with a memorable performance from Eric Stuart. He could transition between his wise and calm nature to flirty and excitable around women very smoothly, not to mention when Brock did get serious, Stuart carried respect. Brock’s extended stay in the anime would’ve definitely been influenced by his performance, even with the dub recast. Bill Rogers’ Brock has been a mixed bag. First doing a decent impression of Eric Stuart in Mastermind of Mirage and Battle Frontier, but later on his voice became deeper, aged AND more gruff, which doesn’t fit the character; especially when Brock was flirting or raising his voice. Rogers was better when Brock was quiet and calm, but a mixed bag it was. Thankfully, his recent performance in Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution is a noticeable improvement! His lighter, more enthusiastic take sounding closer to Stuart like it was before. In all, his take is okay, far from perfect but okay. Johnny Yong Bosch wasn’t my first choice for Brock, but it works surprisingly okay. He brings an experience and calmness to the role, even if he feels a little bland at times. Tom Bauer does an admirable job, sounding very close to Stuart while bringing a ‘Rock Hard Determination’ to his take. Bauer comes very close to being my favourite, but Stuart got to explore Brock as a multifaceted character, making him my definitive voice for Brock!
