I WAS THE VERY FIRST FAN WHO MET LEE MIN HO | 03.15.2021 | LEE MIN HO FILMING PACHINKO IN VANCOUVER

This is Part 1 of my #fancam footage and experience finding Lee Min Ho all over Vancouver, Canada, during the filming of Pachinko, and how a fangirl’s dream of meeting him finally came true. The story of my Lee Min Ho Fangirling: I have been a big fan of Lee Min Ho since my late teens back in 2009 during his Boys Over Flowers days. I have followed his career and watched all his dramas throughout the years and it has always been my dream to see him in person even once in my lifetime. I dreamt of visiting South Korea someday, in hopes of the possibility of seeing him there, even if the chances are very slim. Perhaps he would have a fan meet and greet event I could attend or I could go to his agency’s office and wait outside or maybe take a walk to different parts of the city every evening and likely accidentally run into him, he does like to take late evening walks after all! I never imagined that dream would actually come true without me needing to go to South Korea. When the news broke out that he was cast as one of the main actors on the upcoming TV series, Pachinko, and was coming to Canada to film some of the scenes, I was elated! I thought to myself, ‘this is it! I’m going to find him all over Vancouver and finally see him in person!’ The first time I ever saw him up close in person was on March 15, 2021 on his first day of filming. I was the very first fan to show up at the filming location in Britannia Shipyards. There was no other fan there except myself, and there he was standing just a few feet away from me and suddenly, I felt my teenager-heart fluttering once again, that teenager-heart that once had a big crush on Gu Jun Pyo in Boys Over Flowers. Inside me, I wanted to scream, to cry, to jump, to approach him, to talk to him, to ask for a picture with him, even to hug him, but I was completely mesmerized and speechless that the only word that came out of my mouth was a shy and giggly, ‘Hiiii!’ He looked at me and smiled at me, a quick smile that felt like eternity. (See timeline on video at 0:28). I could not believe that just happened - that dream to meet Lee Min Ho finally became real! And because I was longing for more, I did not stop there. I continued to visit the set daily, with the exception of just one day, and was lucky enough to get plenty of fancam footage that I’ve put together here. More to come for Part 2 so stay tuned.
