Wish You Love - Charles Trenet & Albert Beach

#med (Music.Every.Day) Day 348 of my daily video posting project. I have been working on this project since November 2023--learning and posting a video of new piano music every day! Today's video is "Wish You Love" by Charles Trenet & Albert Beach. This arrangement comes from the collection "Jazz Piano Solos - Late Night Jazz". Another bossa nova jazz piece--this one with some crazy chords in it. I found it tricky because the left hand has the standard bossa nova rhythms in it, but the right hand has quarter note triplets. That took a minute to figure out the math, but it's a little tricky to do--you have to put the left hand bossa rhythm on auto pilot, and stretch the triplets in the right hand and hope that it comes out right! This was an interesting song to learn--tough reading as far as some of the chords were concerned, but once. you got the hang of that weird rhythm, it was fun to play.
