Brunch at Pak Yusoff Nasi Melayu with A Fellow Youtuber | Malay Cuisine & buah dokong at Perak Road

In today’s video, I had the pleasure of enjoying a fantastic brunch at Pak Yusoff Nasi Melayu on Macalister Road, George Town, Penang. Joining me was a fellow YouTuber, @WanderingMunchers, as we indulged in some of the best Malay cuisine Penang has to offer. With so many mouthwatering dishes to choose from, it was tough to narrow it down, but I finally settled on squid eggs (telur sotong) cooked with turmeric, ayam goreng tepung (breaded fried chicken), crispy salted fish, and turmeric cabbage. I couldn’t resist drenching my rice with a variety of delicious curries. As we savored our meal, my friend and I had a wonderful time chatting about our shared love for food and the vibrant flavors of Malay cuisine. It was a foodie experience to remember, and after nearly 1.5 hours, we parted ways to continue with our day. In the afternoon, I picked up Naomi from school and couldn’t help but describe the incredible food I had in the morning. Hearing about the telur sotong, her favorite, she immediately convinced me to go back and pack some nasi Melayu for her! We made it just 30 minutes before closing and were able to get exactly what she wanted. On our way back, we stumbled upon a roadside vendor selling buah dukung (buah dokong), a fruit similar to langsat but bigger and sweeter. Naturally, we couldn’t resist picking up a kilo or two. The fruits were incredibly sweet and made the perfect end to our foodie adventure! Watch the video to see our delightful brunch, my catch-up with WanderingMunchers, and our impromptu fruit haul.
