Ultra Running VLOG - Tour du Mont-Blanc and Tor Des Geants (300 Miles in the Alps)

Curious about how to train and run an ultra marathon? Welcome to my ultra running training VLOG - Episode 12. This series shows what it takes to run ultra marathon, providing you honest and uncensored details as I train and race for 100 miles ultra marathon every month for the third year. This is a 'behind the scene' view showing the imperfection but the reality of ultra running. Curious about the gear I use and recommend? Check out this link https://linktr.ee/runningwithsimon This episode is very special - 2 weeks in the Alps! Nora and I are traveling abroad for the first time together! First doing Tour du Mont-Blanc. 100 miles over 4 days, crossing France, Italy and Switzerland. Then I race Tor des Geants - an epic ultra running adventure of 230 miles around vallee d'aosta in the italian Alps. With 84k ft of gain in the high mountains, and with difficult weather conditions including rain, high wind and snow - this was the most difficult race of my life. I'll be posting seperate movie about both adventure, but this vlog which is fresh out of the race (recorded less than 30hrs after the race) brings you along with first impression and plenty of cool footage! Of course as you'll learn in the video - the trip was both fanstatic but also a bit sad. Nora hurt her ankle early on, preventing us from doing Tour du Mont-Blanc. We still had a great time in europe, but of course, not the trip we were hoping. And now she's on the long road to recovery - hope you can join me in wishing her all the best. As for the race - it was everything I was hoping for. An epic adventure, the culmination of years of training and preparation. This race isn't easy to say the least. It's already difficult on paper to cover these distance and gain, but the condition and technicality of the trail made it much worse. High risk of injuries, and battling conditions that you need to have good experience of the mountain to conquer. I can't wait to share the full movie with you! So busy episode - I'll be slowing down for a few weeks. Recovery, training, and preparing for my next adventure. I'm considering signing up to Saddle 100 miles in Arizona (Oct 5). If not, my next race is Diagonal des Fous - an extremly rugged and challenging mountain race on Ile de le Reunion! Also top 5 dream race for me (Oct 17). As always - Thanks for watching and remember - Work Hard! Believe in yourself! Push your limits!
