Hey Everyone! So it is officially March and that means that the Iranian New Year is coming up! This is a time of gatherings, exchanging gifts and greetings, and most importantly FEASTING! Persian New Year has always been one of my favorite holidays… As a child we used to have Huge parties in our home filled with so many of our dear friends, my dad was a musician and he would play his Santour, which is a classical Iranian instrument, and we would all dance and eat and laugh all day and night… These were the most beautiful memories for me growing up that I will always cherish. On that note, I thought today would be a great day to show you all how to make Persian Baklava which would be such a “Sweet treat” to ring in the New Year with! Its filled with some of the most aromatic ingredients like Cardamom, Rose Water, and an abundance of nuts and plump raisins! Here are the ingredients you will need for this recipe! Watch the video for step-by-step instructions on how to put everything together :) • 1 ½ cup blanched almond slivers • 1 ½ cup shelled pistachios • 1 cup raisins • 1 1/2 cup granulated sugar • 1 1/4 tsp ground cardamom • 1 lb phyllo dough, thawed • 1/4 lb (2 sticks of butter) unsalted butter, melted • 1 cup water • 1/2 cup rosewater • 1/4 cup ground pistachios • 1 TBS dried rose petals, crushed (optional) Please make sure to SUBSCRIBE and LIKE this video for more of my upcoming recipes!
