Bitless & Bareback Dressage Schooling, Part I

Here I am with Smokey. Boy, have we come a long way since our last video posted in February of 2012. I wanted to share this video with everyone to show where we are in our riding. Up until this video (and rest to follow) neither Smokey or Sundance have had any level of education in classical dressage. It had been years since I was taught and schooled Legend, my Arab. He is now semi-retired. It's Smokey and Sundance's turn to learn and have consistency in their training. I began my dressage journey with both Smokey and Sundance last Summer, 2012. We would take a lesson each month (I was busy traveling for clinics) and practice when I could. It wasn't until January of 2013 that we got serious and spent 6 weeks schooling for our Pas de Deux performance for the PA Horse World Expo. We didn't practice again until just recently (again, traveling a lot April - Oct for clinics). We started schooling again this month, and here is where we are. We are now schooling for the FL Horse N Pet expo, December 13-15, 2013. We will be performing a Pas de Deux, La Garrocha and liberty. We will film it all. Wish us luck!
