Following my eldest son (Dylan)'s diagnosis of ASD, I threw myself into knowing all there was to know about Autism and how to help him. Special school: a school for children with special educational needs. A SENCo, or special educational needs coordinator: the school teacher who is responsible for assessing, planning, and monitoring the progress of children with special needs. Education, health, and care plan (EHC plan, or EHCP): a document from your local council which says what education and health needs your child has and what support they should get.
