China's CSI 300 index has moved into a bull market after the announcement of recent economic stimulus. The market is up 25% in a week and jumped 8.5% on Monday alone, the biggest one-day rise since 2008. Visiting fellow at the Australian National University's Crawford School of Public Policy, Dr Huw McKay, says while it is yet to be seen whether the stimulus will work, it is promising and could be the circuit-breaker the economy needs. Dr McKay says it will be clear after the 2025 Lunar New Year celebrations whether household confidence has improved.
