Relax - Pikmin 2 (High Quality + Oscilloscope)

Internal name: caverelax.cnd. BPM: 60. Music by Kazumi Totaka, Music recorded in Logic Pro X, visuals made in Corrscope. Download: https://drive.google.com/drive/folder... My Carrd: https://wafflesmogumogu.carrd.co/ This song is used for safe sublevels filled with various helpful objects or creatures that will replenish your Pikmin count, power them up, or give you extra items to help sustain you in the sublevels coming next. This is the slowest and most ambient song in the game, consisting entirely of several simple waveforms that extend for long periods. All the notes are picked from D-major, and its intended to sound relaxing and comforting. Though there is sometimes an occasional, out-of-key A# from the bass; after all, these rest sublevels are never the FINAL sublevel... The music will activate extra instruments depending on the game state: Main: 0:00 Working: 4:36 Most songs also have extra instruments that are added when battling enemies, etc., but this song has only the one extra Working instrument. It lacks all those extra mixes. More things can affect the music too but aren't demonstrated in the video, such as the tempo decreasing when low on health, and instruments intentionally skipping notes if the player's Pikmin squad gets a huge bite taken out of it (the music will begin to sound like it has "holes" in it). Pikmin 2's cave music also infinitely, randomly generates! It uses a "gesture" system: instruments in a specific song pull basic sequences of notes from a gesture bank and play them, also sometimes at random times according to some extra defined rules. (You can think of it like a folder containing a ton of tiny MIDI files of few notes, which are then randomly puzzle-pieced together, infinitely) Instruments used: PfLow: Pikmin 2 PfMid: Pikmin 2 PfHi: Pikmin 2 WntSunL: Pikmin 2 WntSunR: Pikmin 2 Ambi L: Yamaha - PLG150-DX Ambi R: Yamaha - PLG150-DX Bubble: Pikmin 2 Instrument ramblings (Feel free to ignore): There are a total of 3 separate sine-wave instrument tracks. PfLow focuses on bass notes. PfMid plays middle notes (and also plays a little more frequently than the other two), and PfHi plays the high notes. WntSun (which I have dubbed "Winter Sun") is also used in Emergence Cave and Jellyfloat Pool, though it has a very slow attack here. Two instrument tracks here use Winter Sun, and each is dedicated to the left or right channel. There are also very faint sine-waves in this song, which are a FM-synth sound from the PLG150-DX. Like Winter Sun, these are also separated in two for stereo purposes. This song uniquely only has one single additional mix. It's a saw-wave with an auto-wah effect applied that randomly plays from 4 different notes. ---------- Every song is transcribed and recreated by ear, though I substitute some samples with uncompressed, higher quality ones. If you are searching for a free oscilloscope, I highly recommend checking out Corrscope which is the program used in this video. Its good fun and I thought It would make great use as a tool to show off some of my Pikmin music projects.
