About the presenter: Akanksha Sharma, MD, is board certified in neurology, neuro-oncology and palliative medicine. She is experienced in the treatment of primary/metastatic brain tumors, neurological complications of cancer, and disease-related burden and symptoms. She practices neuro-oncology and runs a supportive care clinic at Pacific Neuroscience Institute/Saint John’s and is Director of Neuro Oncology Clinical at Saint John’s Cancer Institute. Dr. Sharma brings a unique perspective to neuro-oncology care with her clinical experience combining neuro-oncology and palliative care. Her research focuses on understanding and improving quality of life, how we best manage symptoms, the importance of prognostication, and caregiver support.
