It was written by Ti West and Mia Goth and directed by Ti West. “Cobweb” follows the story of Peter, a young boy haunted by strange noises coming out of the walls in his room as well as the overprotectiveness of his parents. As he comes closer to discovering what the origin of those sounds are, he also discovers some family secrets that change his life forever. This is a horror movie made right! It does not need a humongous budget and production to be effective. It immerses the audience in the drama and spookiness. It does not rely on cheap jump scares but rather a solid/fun build up that has you rooting for the protagonist to survive (unless you hate children). “Pearl” is the prequel to “X”. It follows the story of a small town farm girl named Pearl. She dreams of being a famous dancer and making it out of her tedious every day routine. Her passion for stardom proves to be far more ferocious than anyone imagined. As her goals take a few hits along the way, so do the people standing in her way This was a fantastic film. “Pearl” delivers in story and kills. It never sways too much in one particular direction but instead encapsulates just the right amount of drama, gore and sexuality that one would expect from an “X” prequel.
