When learning the gybe on a wing or any kind of board where you need to need to swap hands I have found it very useful to break the turn down into small sections to get used to each part without crashing over and over again. As you experience each part it becomes easier to progress to the next part and so on. I break the turn down into a 90 degree turn as opposed to a full 180 degree turn The entry with speed and acceleration. The downwind with the glide The turn through the wind using the glide and turning back to stage 2 or even back to 1 to practice before going into stage 3 again. You can practice 90 percent of the gybe without having to change the wing or your feet and it builds control and confidence. Trust the glide and learn to glide longer to allow more control and time to move through the stages.
