Should You Buy the Gamerz Tek Mini Gen HD Sega Genesis and MegaDrive HDMI Clone System?

In this video, we test & review the Gamerz Tek Mini Gen HD 16-bit clone system compatible with Sega Genesis & Megadrive Games. To order a Gamerz Tek Mini Gen HD of your own & support the channel by doing so click this link here - https://amzn.to/2JmJ3fh We all know the tagline by now, "Genesis Does what Nindtendon't". While the Genesis didn't quite topple Nintendo's dominance it did have an amazing library of games that are simply amazing classics. But where Nintendo fans have had a plethora of NES & SNES HDMI clone systems to play over the years Genesis fans have been left in the cold. The Gamerz Tek Mini Gen HD looks to change that. The Mini Gen HD is an updated, hardware-based, Genesis clone system that features a 720P HDMI output. Being hardware-based you generally have better game compatibility unlike software-emulated systems such as the Retron5 or ATGames Genesis Flashback HD. Being hardware you also cannot hack the system to add extra games if you don't have the game cartridges themselves. While I do own Genesis carts & did actually own a Genesis Model 2 back in the day I wouldn't consider myself an expert. That being said I decided to test the Mini Gen HD with games I thought most would be familiar with, or that I was familiar with myself. Sonic the Hedgehog is iconic & many clone systems just don't handle the music or animation properly. I thought Sonic looked great, as did Sonic 2 & 3 along with Sonic & Knuckles all were great looking &, yes, Sonic & Knuckles with Sonic 3 works PERFECTLY! That's a major advantage over other systems! I even tested out the original 3-button controller with Sonic 1 & it worked great too. I'm a huge Earthworm Jim fan & it is one of the Genesis games I've played more than any other. I used the included 6-button controller for playing EWJ &, while I didn't love the D-pad it was responsive & allowed me to get through the levels without issue. EWJ is one of those games where lag & latency make it harder to complete certain jumps but the Mini Gen HD exhibited none of these issues. It felt just as locked-in with other games such as Super Street Fighter 2. Why it RoX: Great value High Game Compatibility Works with Sonic & Knuckles w/Sonic 3 Very good sound & video quality Included controllers are very good Compatible with 3-button controllers Compact size 4:3/16:9 switch What could be improved Not compatible with Game Genie Cord on the controller is too short While the audio sounds good it's not stereo, it is dual-channel mono Since it lacks the AV In/Out of the Original Hardware 32X & Sega CD are not compatible. Should You Buy One? If you are a Genesis/Megadrive fan looking to game via HDMI on a modern TV this is a really good way to do it. While it has a few misses with the lack of Game Genie support and the dual-channel mono vs stereo audio I really do think the Mini Gen HD is a very stout system. For $40-$45 you can do a lot worse, and Lord knows there are a lot of poor quality Genesis clones out there! Do you want to send products, donations or gifts in for us to feature on the channel?
