You Won't Believe This Incredible Viaduct Park Up In Galloway Forest - Vanlife UK

In this video we show you what might be one of the most stunning park ups in Galloway Forest Park, right next to a Viaduct! Since we converted our campervan this has to be one of the best free overnight park ups we have found. One of the best things we like to is take ourselves on the beaten track and find great parking places where we can not only rest for the night but get out and explore, you can also enjoy great walking, easy family cycling, mountain biking or just sit back and soak up breathtaking river and mountain views and it its clear, some of the BEST starry night skies in EUROPE! And, this was Scotland's first Dark Skies project! The Forest Park has everything you need for a great day out, whatever the time of year, ask us, we did it in the torrential rain! As you have sen previously you can meet red deer and wild goats, enjoy classic scenery from your car on a Forest Drive, follow in the footsteps of Robert the Bruce or picnic beside a peaceful loch. Yet again we crashed the drone, but thankfully our Mavic mini survived to tell another tale. A little more about the location: Situated deep in inside Galloway Forest Park among some of the most picturesque scenery, 6 miles (10 km) northwest of Gatehouse of Fleet in Dumfries and Galloway, is the Big Water of Fleet Viaduct. The viaduct was constructed in 1861 as part of the Portpatrick Railway, it has to be one of the most mazing locations we have found to date to park. Galloway Forest Park’s has three visitor centres. Kirroughtree, the gateway centre for Galloway Forest Park, for active adventures. You can walk about the wooded areas, splash in or on on the water, defeat the hills and learn all about the history at Glentrool and enjoy tranquil views over lochs and hills at Clatteringshaws. This areas is also home to two of the world-famous 7stanes mountain bike trail centres.
